12 month, Fixed Term Contract.  Part time (20 hours per week)

£12,899 pa for 0.5FTE, inc of London Weighting (pro rata of £25,799 if 1.0FTE)

The Oasis Hub Ashburton Park team are currently looking for a visionary Food Surplus Project and Volunteer Coordinator to be responsible for coordinating and developing the local Hub operations, with a specific focus on the new food surplus project and volunteer development.

This is a newly created role and we believe a fantastic opportunity for a reliable self-starter to work on a project that supports and engages with the local community on a practical and personal level.  Some of the duties of this role include:

  • Setting up and running our new surplus project including collecting and distributing food in a network, breakfast clubs and weekly community meals.
  • Fostering existing and create new partnerships with local voluntary, community, faith organisations in the private and public sector.
  • Working with academy staff to provide a healthy nutritional student breakfasts, create exciting lessons and workshops
  • Recruiting and monitoring volunteers by developing an integrated volunteer management system across the Hub
  • Maintaining databases and undertaking administrative duties associated with the role

This is very much a relationship building and project management role, but the successful applicant will also need to demonstrate:

  • Proven people management skills and the ability to network and create partnerships across sectors.
  • Experience in working with financial information and budgets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a polite telephone manner.
