Situated in Peckham, south east London, No.3 opened in 1990 and is funded by Southwark Council to provide supported accommodation to young people experiencing homelessness. 16 young women with medium – high support needs are accommodated at any one time. The primary age group is 16-21, however individuals are accepted up to the age of 25 on a case by case basis.
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of our Service Users supporting young people and preparing them for increased independence?
Do you have experience of working in supported housing projects with young people and/or extensive experience of supporting vulnerable and/or challenging young people?
To join us you will need to demonstrate a holistic approach in relating to young people and an understanding of the pressures facing young people, particularly around homelessness. You will have the ability to engage, relate and motivate young people and use your initiative and work flexibly in a demanding environment.
In return you will benefit from a supportive, creative environment and have opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills. We are passionate about our staff and believe in caring for them in the same ways we care about our service users. We are a growing charity and don’t have the resource to provide fancy staff perks: however we are really good at the things money can’t buy. We believe staff are the foundation stone to the success of the charity and so we do everything we can to make sure they feel valued, supported, engaged and developed. We welcome applicants from all faiths or none, but it is important that all employees understand and sympathise with the Christian ethos of Oasis Aquila Housing.
