Centred around Oasis Academy Blakenhale Infants and Oasis Academy Blakenhale Junior, the hub in the Garretts Green community of Birmingham provides educational services that benefit the whole community. As well as pioneering a peer network to support young people with Special Educational Needs, the hub provides holiday programmes, parenting classes and literacy education for adults.
At the heart of Winson Green in Birmingham is Oasis Academy Foundry – a primary school where over 40 languages are spoken - which has of the most transient school populations in England. Through deep roots in the community the hub has opened a novel and popular Alpaca farm, a community cooking club as well as a range of mentoring and support services all of which aim to raise self-belief, aspiration and help people nurture strong relationships.
Breakfast club – jobs club – tutoring – Street Dance. These are just some of the activities operating out of Oasis Hub Hobmoor, a busy and vibrant expression of Oasis which has Oasis Academy Hobmoor at its heart. Driven by a strong belief that a diverse community can be strong and flourishing when united and empowered. Through a strong chaplaincy service the hub nurtures character and values in everyone they work with and is committed to inclusion across every project and activity.
Currently in the process of developing a new community centre, this Birmingham based hub has a vision of engaging the entire community in the life of Oasis Academy Short Heath. As well as providing local primary aged children with the best possible education the Hub is supported by many volunteers who help raise funds and develop initiatives for parents and other community members.
The Worcester-based hub is situated around Oasis Academy Warndon and offers after school clubs and support with parenting. The hub is currently developing plans to launch a brand new community farm which will provide educational benefits and strengthen community relationships through a family friendly experience.
As well as the thriving Academy of the same name, the hub is home to the Oasis regional office and provides a range of after school activities including a gardening club. Through the work of the Academy, the hub successfully engages parents in the education of their young people. Located near the centre of Birmingham, Oasis Hub Woodview is also currently building a partnership with a local community centre.
