STT is a groundbreaking charity established in 2006, working with communities across the world to assist in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.

In conjunction with Hastings and Rother DISCOVERY Hub, STT are seeking a Modern Slavery Community Coordinator. Hastings and Rother Police have developed a Multi-Agency task force to uncover ‘Hidden crime’ across the local area. DISCOVERY, focuses on identifying crime groups, in which modern slavery is an integral part.

The main aims of DISCOVERY are to investigate any criminal activity, provide safeguarding to victims and workers, dismantle companies utilising partner agency powers and in partnership with STT raise awareness and build communities resilient to modern slavery.

The DISCOVERY team consists of local councils, emergency services, HMRC, Immigration and non-government organisations, such as, STT who will be located in a co-located premises in the region.

This is a multi-faceted role and amongst other activities, the Coordinator will be asked to:

  • To develop and coordinate a Modern Slavery NGO and Community forum within the region
  •  To collaborate and work as a part of the DISCOVERY HUB team
  •  To communicate with and work with Hastings Against Trafficking Hub (HATH)
  • To connect into with the Pan-Sussex Modern Slavery Network
  • To target and deliver community prevention models with particular respect to those places where there is highest vulnerability across the region
  • To deliver and develop STT Modern Slavery Awareness Raising initiatives
  • To recruit and support STT Hastings volunteers to assist them raising community awareness
  • To promote STT intelligence gathering campaigns via technology, social media and community campaigns

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven management skills across community projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt messages effectively for diverse audiences
  • Proven administrative skills and data collection
  • Experience of development and implementation of strategy
  • Self-motivated, innovative and be used to working in a fast-paced environment
