Oasis Farm Waterloo works in partnership with Jamie’s Farm. Jamie’s Farm exists to transform the lives of vulnerable children in challenging urban schools by providing a unique combination of ‘farming, family and therapy’ through a short-stay residential and follow-up programmes. The charity aims to re-engage children with educational life, enabling them to fulfil their potential both in their school and community, and has worked with over 2,000 vulnerable young people primarily from disadvantaged communities of London.

The Young Farmers Club is an opportunity for young people ages 11-14 from the local area to explore farming and wellbeing. Sessions will include farming jobs, cooking and self-reflection and are about giving children the time and space to reflect, renew and determine a new path for themselves. We do this by creating an environment where they feel respected, and are given opportunities to display their talents and show responsibility.

To be successful in these roles you will need:

  • A strong interest in horticulture and/or farming
  • Proven experience in working with young people, including working in an outdoor setting
  • Awareness of safeguarding best practice for children/young people & adults at risk.
  • A ‘can-do’ approach, be self-motivated and flexible
  • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and First Aid Certification (essential for the Co-ordinator role)

Applicants will be committed to the ethos of both Oasis and Jamie’s Farm and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff will be subject to appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks and referencing.
