Oasis Hub Waterloo have a vacancy for a self-motivated and committed Project Development Manager to lead a pilot project aimed at making a real difference to childhood and youth obesity.

Oasis Community Health is a growing strand of Oasis Hub Waterloo. Through our sister charity Oasis Community Learning, we run around 50 schools in England, and are committed to providing exceptional holistic education. As part of that commitment to young people, we are concerned about the whole person – physically, spiritually, socially, educationally, emotionally, economically and environmentally – and this includes their health. As a result of this, Oasis Community Health and Oasis Hub Waterloo are developing a new community-based project to tackle childhood and youth obesity.

The Project Development Manager will work alongside a team of dedicated community workers and cultivate relationships with the best health professionals in the local area and beyond, to develop a truly innovative approach to obesity. The pilot will run for five years, during which time funding will be sought to continue the project indefinitely if successful.

Duties will include:

  • Working with the project’s steering group and other care professionals to develop innovative approaches to support young people.
  • Working with stakeholders to develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation of the project.
  • Supporting the Hub Projects Manager to develop relationships and capitalise on existing relationships

You will be supported by the Oasis Hub Projects Manager and the wider Oasis Hub Waterloo team.  You will also line manage two members of staff.

We are looking for a star Project Manager! You could be successful in this role if you:

  • Significant experience of project management.
  • Excellent understanding of complexities of working with the health sector.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial management and business planning.
  • Experience in networking effectively to build relationships with funders and partners.

Oasis is committed to making a difference to the lives of the communities it works in. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks.
