A ground-breaking three-school trust are in conversation with Oasis about the possibility of one of the most high-profile academy mergers to date.

Big Education leads three London schools — School 21, School 360, and Surrey Square Primary School — and is nationally recognised for its innovative work in curriculum design, leadership development and holistic, whole-child education.

Alongside its schools, it also runs respected programmes that support teachers and leaders across the education system.

Early conversations suggest that bringing Big Education and Oasis together will create a more connected, ambitious and impactful network of support for children, families and staff.

Oasis is a founding trust of the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT), the country’s flagship institution for teacher and leadership development and Big Education runs several established development programmes.

At the heart of discussions is a shared belief that education is about who children become as well as what they achieve. This common purpose is what has drawn both organisations to explore this opportunity.

Over the coming months, both trusts will continue to explore this partnership through a careful engagement and due-diligence process — guided by openness, integrity and a focus on what best serves students, staff and the communities of both Oasis and Big Education.
