Double The Hope This Christmas
Help us create 20 homes for families struggling this Christmas. Every donation you make between 2-9 December will be DOUBLED!
Right now, more than 123,000 families in England are in temporary accommodation. But we know the problem goes much further with many households stuck in a rental market they can’t afford — without security or support.
Children are growing up without safe places to play, study, or sleep — research shows the more children move house, the worse their academic results. At the same time parents are pushed to breaking point with no clear way out. We want to change this.
This summer, we took on one of our most ambitious challenges yet: to acquire and refurbish 20 homes in Sheffield and Scunthorpe for families hardest hit by poverty and exclusion.
The response so far has been phenomenal. Over £2 milllion in social investment has been secured, and we have raised 97% of the target from generous partners and supporters who stand ready with us to provide homes that will change lives forever.
We are now just 3% away from completing the circle. This final push will allow families to move into their new homes early next year, and we need your help to make it happen.

Alice’s story
Eight years ago, Alice was without a secure and stable home for herself and her three children. In a moment of crisis, she turned to her local Oasis Hub in Grimsby. There, she was met with a warm welcome and the housing advice and support she needed to find a place she and her family could truly call their own.
That new home gave them the security, peace, and space they needed to thrive. Alice noticed her children beginning to feel calmer and happier, relationships within the family strengthened, and at last their home became a place of stability and hope.
But Alice’s story doesn’t stop there. Her new home gave her more than four walls and a roof. It was a safe base from which she could use her gifts, give back to her community and reach her potential.
Alice became an inspiring and thoughtful Oasis hub volunteer — helping to bring hope through the food bank, sharing warmth by distributing pre-loved clothing, and bringing joy by helping to run community events.
One Christmas, she even helped source 1,300 “oodies” (oversized hooded blankets) so that children and families across Wintringham and Nunsthorpe could stay warm and comfortable that winter — ensuring no family was excluded.
Through her involvement with the hub, Alice discovered a deeper sense of purpose and joy. She’s now training to become a teaching assistant, ready to support more young people in her community and her children are flourishing in Oasis schools, surrounded by the same wrap-around care that first changed their family’s life.
