Oasis and Big Education Trust will be merging from 1 September 2026 with approval from the Department for Education.
For more than four decades, Oasis has been committed to transforming lives through education, community support and strong local partnerships – and this merger is a natural next step in that journey, bringing together two trusts who share a deep belief in holistic, community-centred education.
Oasis will be welcoming School 21, School 360, Surrey Square Primary and Big Education programmes bringing oracy, assessment and AI to more Oasis academies, while opening up new professional development opportunities for staff.
John Barneby, CEO of Oasis Community Learning, said in an interview with Schools Week:
“Oasis has always been clear that education sits within a wider set of relationships — with families, communities and the bright futures young people go on to lead.
“Big Education brings an exceptional, evidence-informed approach to that work, built over many years through their schools and programmes.”
Liz Robinson, CEO and Co-founder of Big Education said in an interview with Tes Magazine:
“This merger enables us to grow an approach to education that we know makes a real difference – one that goes beyond academic outcomes and focuses on the whole child.”
